Permanent Makeup FAQ
Permanent makeup is a cosmetic technique that deposits pigment into the dermis layer of the skin. The pigment is designed to break down and fade in the skin over time. Cosmetic tattooing is a way to mimic the look of naturally applied makeup and can save time for those who apply makeup daily.
While pain tolerance varies from person to person, topical anesthetic is used during your session to maximize comfort. Most clients experience little to no discomfort and stay quite relaxed. When the procedure is complete and the topical anesthetic wears off, there is minimal tenderness and swelling.
Permanent makeup will last approximately 2-5 years depending upon which technique is performed. A persons’ current health and health history can play a role with pigment retention so there are no guarantees. Usually, every 12-18 months are preferred to keep the desired effect looking its best.
The procedure is a two-step process spaced 6 weeks apart. The 2nd session is simply used for enhancing and fine tuning. The initial procedure is 3 hours and allow for 1.5-2 hours for the 2nd session. Following each procedure, there is a 7-12 day healing process.
The goal is to always work with your natural eyebrow shape and hairs. If you still have eyebrow hairs, you will occasionally tweeze/wax around the brow shape, but this is easy to do now that you have your new defined brow shape to follow.
Skincare FAQ
A cleanser, antioxidant serum, moisturizer and specifically a mineral sunscreen. A chemical sunscreen can potentially cause irritation or an allergic reaction.
Generally speaking, I would advise one to two times per week, but it depends on the exfoliant and how powerful it is.
Yes! Refined sugar can increase hormone levels in the body, leading to inflammation, and exacerbate acne.
Traditional spots caused by sun damage can be treated with laser, peels and topicals, however, melasma, a hormonally triggered hyperpigmentation is most likely treated with peels and topicals - as lasers can exacerbate the condition.
Absolutely! There are many peel solutions that are appropriate for Rosacea and can greatly improve redness and acne bumps.
